Design of a spacious, open plan kitchen extension and family room for a Grade II listed Georgian house, overlooking the rear garden.
The original kitchen was dark and had limited views, with only one window looking on to the drive. The brief for this extension was to provide a light, airy space that the family could enjoy on a daily basis. The client also wanted views straight through the house from the front door to the arched window on the rear wall.
The design of the extension echoes the traditional Georgian features of the original house, with high ceilings and painted timber arched windows. The roof is part lead and part natural slate to match the roof of the existing house. Exposed green oak beams span the vaulted ceiling over the kitchen fittings.
