Garden room extension with oak frame and glazing between studs

Location:

Date:

Cambridgeshire

2022

Project overview

This house had an existing conservatory that was too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. The client wanted to replace the conservatory with a garden room that could be used all year round. The garden room therefore was designed with a solid pitched roof to enable the building to remain at a more constant temperature and reduce heat loss.

The room has a traditional appearance with a brick plinth, glazing between oak studs and a roof finish of plain clay tiles. The room has a vaulted ceiling internally giving it a spacious feel and has great views of the garden.
